1. Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company.
Founded in 2009, our company, RapidValue Solutions is fast emerging as a global leader in digital transformation for enterprises. We believed that emerging technologies like mobile and cloud would change the way people and businesses operate and we wanted to create a firm that helps lead that revolution. We are essentially a technology services firm that helps enterprises adopt emerging technologies to be more efficient by reducing costs and increasing revenue. Digital native firms like Amazon and Uber are redefining business models, and disrupting industries and we help traditional enterprises compete with these digital native players by adopting these technologies easily. When our customers are able to leverage the technology that we implemented to grow fast, they work more with us, and we grow faster.
Being a CEO & the Co-Founder of the company, my role is to define our overall vision and strategy, oversee the operations of every department, and ultimately ensure our solutions and services are enabling our clients accelerate business outcomes consistently and provide a best-in-class work environment for our employees to learn and grow.
2. What was the idea behind starting this organization?
RapidValue was born out of our thought that emerging technologies like Mobile and Cloud could change our lives for the better and transform the way enterprises work. My co-founders and I were inspired to change the world and we were determined to create something out of nothing. We were driven by a simple motto, “Make a difference and do it fast.” We knew we were competing against well-known and established players like Accenture, Deloitte, Infosys, and Cognizant. However we were not frightened, the tough competition made us stronger and honestly, it excited us. We were convinced we were better positioned to bring emerging technologies to enterprises way faster than some of the larger players. These technologies demanded a new way of thinking and doing-agile, fearless and lightning-fast and we had a team that really embraced that way of working. We believe that in order to change the world, we have to be better and faster.
3. What are the services you offer to your clients?
We provide end-to-end digital transformation services and solutions around cloud engineering, mobility, omnichannel and IoT. Armed with a large team of experts in consulting, UX design, application development, integration, and testing, along with experience delivering projects worldwide, in mobility and cloud, we offer a wide range of services across industry verticals. Speaking about our cloud-based services, it’s a known fact that cloud platforms like Azure and AWS provide an amazing opportunity for enterprise in different domains to transform and scale their businesses and build systems that will completely change the way they interact with customers and employees. We ensure that we build systems leveraging best practices and services provided by cloud-platforms, ensuring complete scalability. We have an internal Center of Excellence (CoE) teams focused on both AWS and Azure and a large number of certified cloud experts. We have built over 200 reusable components that help enterprises develop applications on cloud platforms at a very high pace. We also have a very strong partnership with both AWS and Microsoft, so that we are constantly updated on the new releases, and have access to pre-beta versions which are used by our teams to research and identify the best solutions on the platform.
4. What is your company’s business model-in house team or third party vendors/outsourcing?
Our company boasts of an efficient in-house team of around 450 digital experts including business consultants, software architects,UX/UI designers, developers who make it easy for us to render our services to customers. From fixed cost model, resource-based engagement model, project-based engagement model to setting up dedicated teams, we provide various business models as per our client’s business requirements. We typically engage with our customers as a strategic partner, helping them conceptualize the technology direction that would help create a sustainable business advantage and helping implement those technologies at a fast pace. We also leverage our strong partner ecosystem which include industry-leading players like AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, uiPath, Automation Anywhere etc.
5. After service is a necessary part of development. How do you provide customer service to your clients?
In today’s world of fast changing technologies, it is important for our customers to be current on the latest technology changes and adopt accordingly. It is not a ‘build once and operate’ model anymore. As a strategic partner, we help our customers through this continuous journey of innovation. We follow up with further versions of the apps as required and these applications are supported by both App Store and Play Store. For long-running projects, we adopt the ‘time and material’ model and offer support in testing, maintenance, support and enhancement.
6. Give your opinions on how far this app revolution can make a difference in the technology world.
I can state with conviction that this trend that we call as app revolution is here to stay because it is near impossible to find a person with a smartphone who has not installed a single app. I know this is quite an overused statement but applications have brought technology under your fingertips and have simplified life. From getting food ordered to your doorstep to paying your bills, there is an app for everything. It bridges the gap between the employees, customers and the services offered, thus enhancing the user experience. The new generation of apps will focus more on increased security and usability and also on the integration of the latest technologies.
7. Define your future prospective and vision regarding new technologies like wearable and IoT apps.
When we founded RapidValue, we believed that some of the new technologies that we were working on would change the way people and businesses would operate. However, the amount of disruption brought about by these technologies in a short period has been more than what we had anticipated. Our vision is to build a unique blend of technology and domain expertise, helping enterprises in different verticals transform leveraging cutting edge technologies. In the next 5 years, we aspire to be one of the top digital transformation firms, enabling enterprises in specific verticals transform their businesses, enabling disruptive business. We will double-down on our investment in cloud technologies since we believe cloud will be the largest disruptor for enterprises in the next decade. We will also continue building strengths on other digital skills like RPA and ML. One of our award-winning solution suites, AsseteZe which is a smart asset manager built on IoT, Big Data and Analytics.
8. What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
Some of the factors that determine the cost of a mobile application are the complexity of the app, the resource availability required by the customer and time/scope of the project. Another important factor is the overall experience and expertise of the developer.
9. What are the challenges you see in the outsourcing industry and how much you’re prepared to face those challenges?
A considerable number of CIOs are focusing more on dynamic and innovative vendors who can help in innovating and accelerating their movement to their ‘systems of differentiation’ rather than the traditional ‘keep lights on’ vendors, moving IT from the traditional “cost center” to a revenue generator. CIOs are also seen working more closely with business, building systems that create high business impact. In order to achieve this, it becomes important to establish digital teams with cross-functional skill-sets, from business/domain consulting, user experience and technologists on digital skills. We are now helping a number of our enterprise clients setup “dedicated digital center (DDC). DDC is essentially a dedicated digital team of 25-50 members, with multiple skills in the digital domain including cloud development, business consulting and user experience. This would ensure that there is a dedicated focus on building systems of tomorrow, rather than just keeping the lights on.
10. What are the latest tools and technologies that you’re planning to implement for mobile app development?
Every day we have team members stepping up and embracing new technologies and project challenges. We employ Kotlin technology for android, MVVM architecture, and Swift 4.2 for iOS. We use a wide range of open source and partner tools such as Selenium, Appium, Robotium, Device Anywhere for mobile app testing and are focused on enhancing the user experience of the applications. We have also integrated DevOps tools and Agile processes to enable continuous integration and delivery. Apart from the tech behind the development, we also give equal weight to making sure a user receives the best experience through our applications. We have a dedicated design studio, RapidGems that makes sure of this, through their research and design process tailored specifically to produce the most natural experience possible for each app. Based on our past experience, we have built a couple of award-winning tools and solution accelerators such as eQuipMe (Oracle Digital Suite), AccuRate (Test Automation Accelerator for DevOps) and AsseteZe ( Smart Asset Manager).
